The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Data Analyst to join our Data team! You will thrive in a fast-paced agency setting and be passionate about using data analytics, science and statistics to produce meaningful interpretations of data, for use in our data-led campaigns

Key Objective

Your primary responsibility is to use data mining and analysis to uncover newsworthy stories for our campaigns. You will work across a multitude of sectors, where you will use science and statistics to transform raw data into compelling narratives that enhance the impact of our client’s digital PR Campaigns. 

You will be resourceful in your approach to finding authoritative and interesting data sources to shape campaigns. You will also be expected to communicate the insights of the data in such a way that digital PR team members can easily take news angles from, for their campaigns.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Utilise various data sources and web scraping techniques to gather relevant datasets and uncover potential news stories and insights

  • Conduct data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data quality and usability for analysis and visualisation

  • Handle large datasets efficiently and implement data cleaning best practices to maintain the integrity of collected data.

  • Apply advanced data analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets

  • Uncover patterns, trends, and relationships in the data to identify engaging narratives and provide unique insights and perspectives on news events

  • Contribute to data team-led ideation sessions; working to proactively provide the digital PR team with topics/angles for campaigns

  • Review datasets that fellow Data Analysts have collected for accuracy and insights

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to think 'outside-the-box'
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Excellent writing and organisational skills
  • Proactive with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, Excel
  • Experience with web scraping libraries (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy)
  • Able to take complex data and break down to allow people of different levels of data literacy to understand
